First time reading the author and I was not disappointed. Just a few things that I couldn't shake was Skyla's carelessness with fraternizing at work. Even if she had not received the warning from her boss, I still couldn't wrap my mind around her reckless behavior. Yes, Jonathan had a lot to lose but she had even more. I'm glad she escaped trouble in that regard but that doubled my confusion when she was fired w/o due to process for beating down his fiancee. Also, on the work front, Angelique's character was totally unbelievable; for her comments and behavior to not result in suspension/termination or even a lawsuit is not realistic at all. Now that I'm off my soapbox (sorry, got caught up there for awhile), I loved the chemistry of the characters. I was surprised to find their explosive romance so palpable... even down to Jonathan marrying for the sake of the baby, based on his past and his age, it was not a stretch. I just hope that in the second book, they rekindle their relationship and get it right. Sky definitely belongs with Jonathan. This was a very good read.Product details

I can't wait for book two this was great hope they get together and make beautiful babies and live happily ever after they deserve it you go Tiss Devane don't make us wait to long.
This is the first book I have read from Tiss Devane and it was great. The way the story was told just pulled me in. There was so much passion. I can't wait to read the next book. I would recommend this book.
Once I started reading this book, I was drawn in! I couldn't put it down... It had a few parts of being a typical love story but with the twists and turns that take you out the box! Great job Tiss!!
Very good read...the book kept me interested the whole time. There were a couple of points where I knew what was going to happen only to find out I was totally wrong and I LOVE the unexpected!!
I really don't like to leave bad reviews but for some reason i just couldn't get into this book i guess it was how the characters where develop but this book i just couldn't get into to
There was a while where I wondering if the plot was going to develop. But this was definitely a steal. Skyla left a bad situation and was determined not to become bitter when looking for the next person to have a real relationship with.
johnathan was not without his faults yet he was the best thing that could come into her life. Skyla was not expecting to find love in the workplace.
During their budding relationship there are plenty of ups and downs. I am definitely having to play catchup with reading the second book
This was a good love story. The characters were well developed and to be urban fiction it was well written and edited. There wasn't a lot of profanity, the N word, drug dealers, strippers, hood rats or excessive materialism. Although a little predictable there were a few twist and some humor intermingled in the story line. I thought Skyla was a bit naive with some of her actions but l love and lust sometimes make you do stupid things. It was a full length novel although again left room for a sequel. Ill probably read part two.
